Pick Your Fight

To say our world is whirling out of control would be an understatement!  Everywhere we look, there is corruption of all sorts, “human trafficking”… let’s call it for what it is, sexual slavery.  There’s political unrest, religious persecution, economic depression, oppression built on propagandas and others that are legitimate, killing of innocent lives through abortions, wars, and drug related crimes.  While we are looking at this problem over here, another issue pops up over there.  Our heads are constantly spinning from looking about and from the realization that these events are truly taking place in our world.

Several years ago, I watched the movie, Matrix and its sequels.  I love movies with action and intrigue.  Except, life right now is pretty much reflecting that movie.  If you haven’t seen Matrix the main concept was that these characters were seeing only mirrored images of what their minds were able to grasp because seeing “the real world” as it was, would be too frightening.  Kind of sounds like us today, huh?  However, we can see our world around us; so what is it that we are NOT capable of seeing?  What could be more frightening than what we are already witnessing with our own eyes?  As I have previously mentioned in my June blog, I am a Christian.  Anything that I will be writing is based on my beliefs and what I feel the Lord wants me to share.  Those of you who are sitting on the fencepost, unsure of believing in an “invisible” God, it’s from that belief, I will take you.  Yes, we cannot see the physical body of God but we can see all that surrounds us, that makes up this beautifully complex world we live in.  God made everything that lives and breathes; everything else are inanimate objects made by man.  The difference between manmade and God made is that, God breathed life, and an individual soul into each human being; manmade items are empty and devoid of a soul or breath.  Once an individual can grasp that concept, hopefully, the following paragraphs will have more credence.

The condition of this world is not going to change for the better because this world is not proactive but reactive.  It’s through reactions that regulations are made for the “betterment of humanity”.  When someone goes out and unloads a semi-automatic on a bunch of innocent lives, our solution is to make more laws to stop law-abiding citizens from owning guns.  With rational thinking, one can see that the semi-automatic didn’t just walk in on its own inanimate (soulless) self, and reek havoc!  No, it was a man (with a soul), who made that decision.  A person who chooses to do this is the responsible party.  Because he/she is lawless, they do not care whether they have broken any laws.  It is only those that live by the law, who obey.  Laws are supposed to govern citizens in a way that guides us to what is lawful and to abstain from unlawfulness.  Laws are supposed protect the innocent and manage life in an orderly manner.  Laws are not for oppressing and enslaving.  When man turns from The Laws which were given by God, (i.e. Ten Commandments, and the Bible), then the world’s reaction to making laws becomes undistinguishable, thus, unimportant because all is important.  Right now, we are watching our government decaying with each Executive Order our president writes and before long, our Constitution will only be a mirrored image of what it once was!

We are living in a world of smoke and mirrors, like the Matrix.  In this movie, the characters were unable to see their real world, which gave them a sense of normalcy, a sense of false security.  Once the main characters saw the truth and that they were living a lie, the matrix was out to kill them.  So what is it that we are NOT seeing?  It’s spiritual warfare.  We may see the outcome but we do not actually see the spirits at battle.  Thank goodness, right?  Spiritual warfare are demonic souls and godly souls, fighting against one another for our souls.  There is so many demonic movies in our theatres that I am concerned it has desensitized people from having an actual healthy respect for good and evil.  Choosing to neither believe in either one, doesn’t exempt one from judgment but has already decided the verdict!  It’s like being in a house fire.  A person can either decide ‘yes, no joke, my home is on fire’ and get out and be saved, or, can rationalize that it’s not really a fire, and stay in the fire and suffer the consequences for one’s choice.

In the world’s current outlook, we have so many concerns about EVERTHING from being “PC”, to Jesus being offensive to the world, to terrorism abroad, to our Constitution being eradicated, to something as simple as do we protect a professional sports team’s trademark.  How does an individual keep sane through so much turmoil?  We have to pick our fight.  How do we pick our fight? Based on each individual’s belief system or lack thereof, there will be different ideas with various results.  For me, the fight is determined by what is longstanding when it’s all said and done.  The earth was formed and created by God as are the very elements (wind, fire and water), and these very same elements can destroy the earth and will take lives.  The only thing that cannot be destroyed by these elements are souls!  As a human being in my weak attempts, I try to “pick my fights” through obeying the very laws that were put into motion by God, and focus on where I may be able to make a difference.  Christians were given the great command to go into the world and to preach the good news that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and He is my Savior and Lord of my life.  However, Christians are not to stop there, we’re to help our lost brothers and sisters by loving and encouraging them to approach and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior so that they too, may receive forgiveness of their sins and gain eternal life.  Nothing else matters.  I’m not saying I don’t care about what is happening around the world and in my back yard but rather, because I choose to pick my fight, it will always be for the Kingdom of God.  He is in control of all matter, not I.  “Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.” Psalm 90:2 (NKJV).

There is hope and order through God’s laws.  He will give you direction and cover your fears.  “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV).

Dear Atheist

Standard

Dear Atheist,

Why?  Why do you not believe in God?  Were you at one time a believer and fell away because of  ill-treatment by another “Christian” or was it, as you felt your own intelligence increasing, it was enough to glorify and trust in yourself?  As you became more knowledgeable about worldly things such as science, did this cause your heart to grow cold and become cynical?  Is this where you began seeing events as nothing more than simple explanations to explain away rather than wonderment, robbing you of any joy?  Did this void become such a chasm that it needed to be fed through carnal lusts that only brings momentary pleasures such as pornography, sex, gluttony and greed?  As you partook of these things, did you find yourself growing angrier with life?  Do you find yourself becoming indignant as you read this letter because there is validity in these words or do you find yourself wanting to cry for the same reason?  Ask yourself, why?  Warning!  There’s not a book or University out there that can explain spiritual hunger because in your world, (an intellectual’s world), to be able to explain spiritual hunger would mean you would have to believe in something or SOMEONE as God!  We cannot have that disorder in a perfectly sound mind, can we?

I may not be an intellect as many Atheist seem to be, but I am a lover of souls.  I am a Christian.  I’m tapped into the spiritual things not tied to this earth.  Do you remember hearing a song or watching a movie and it touched your heart so deeply that tears came streaming down your face?  How long has it been since you last felt that emotion?  Look Atheist, most of you know science very well!  What do you know about sound vibrations and how these vibrations are part of what is holding everything together?  You could quote from literature you’ve read and have all the terminology perfect as you recite it back to me.  AMAZING!  I’m not able to do that, this is YOUR gift, given by God!  However, those sound waves were not always there but were spoken into existence!  Right now, stop the clamor in your head trying to quickly rebut my comment!   It is a reflex with most Atheists, to rebut.  What are you afraid of?  No one is going to steal your intellect away!  I find it interesting that Atheists will call Christians “theists” as an insult, but what do you call yourselves but Atheists?  No, I’m not so simple-minded to not understand the prefix “A” is a denotation of “not” or “without”.  Nevertheless, you still carry the word “theist” in your title!  Even when you try to insult, you are still associated to God, (while you’re alive on earth anyway)!  Lovers of science, the very word “A” is relative to specifying waves-lengths and also is one of four nucleotides for building DNA.  Interesting!  While you my Atheist friend, try to pull away from God, your very title SPEAKS of God through DNA and wave-lengths, all which are God designed but called science by Atheists

Dear Atheist, I find you quite humorous when you will not live by the Bible but you are quick to use the Bible as a weapon of attack against a Christian who lives and studies The Word!  You tell me I am a hypocrite when you are the perfect visual of hypocrisy.  You won’t live by God’s word but you will use his holy words to try and rebuke the very One(s) the book was written for!  The Bible is also met for those seeking answers TO God.  If you are using the Bible in this manner, you are welcome to it.  But if you are reading out of the Bible to rebuke a believer, be very careful non-believer, because God knows in which heart you are holding and reading His word, and it is YOU who will be judged accordingly!  I will not judge you, I’m not THE Judge!  The One you deny, Jesus Christ, will judge you.  You are always asking for “proof”.  Try picking up the Bible with a quiet heart that is not looking to use God’s words to condemn others but look at it as medicine for your wanting soul.  Nothing on this earth will feed your soul because the spirit is not earthbound as the body but is free and uninhibited.

Dear Atheist, you now must decide where you want your soul to reside for eternity…Heaven or Hell?  If you however, refuse to make a decision, don’t worry, your indifference has already decided the Judge’s verdict.  Jesus loves you and he wants you to be with him after this life on earth.  That’s why he came down from his kingdom and took on flesh and bone.  He was human but he is also God.  He took your blame thousands of years ago, and had it nailed with him to the cross where it can no longer torture your mind, reminding you of your past offenses.  That’s what the Devil does!  He lies, accuses and destroys!

If you have heartfelt remorse for your sins, speak your repentance to Jesus.  He will forgive you and clean all sins away, (no matter how retched)!  Ask Jesus to come into your heart.  Once you have done this, out of obedience to Jesus’ final instructions, you MUST be baptized!  Are you still going to trip up and sin?  Yes.  Will God forgive you if you ask for forgiveness?  Yes, if you are truly sorry.  God is not a Jeanie in a bottle that we can use and abuse by thinking “once saved, always saved.”  That saying is only true if you are not intentionally living a sinful life and are trying to live a worshipful life.

Dear Atheist, I enjoyed visiting with you.  I wish only good things for you that this world cannot give you.  I wish you eternal life with Jesus Christ, and to be able to call you my brother or sister.  I will not pretend as though I have all the answers, because I don’t.  However, I do know ONE answer without hesitation or any doubt!  Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior.

Love,

A Christian

Good Friday: The Day Jesus Snatched Lost Souls Out of the Devil’s Grasp!

Standard
Because of wicked hearts and evil agendas, Jesus was brought to the Sanhedrin in the dark of the night and tried as a criminal.  At 6:00AM, Jesus was brought by his accusers before Pontius Pilot.  Jesus was sentence to death by Crucifixion!  It is between 6:00AM and 3:00PM when Jesus died, I wish to address.
Let us not ignore the fact that Pontius Pilot put Jesus in the middle of two criminals!  This placement, I’m sure, was to validate Jesus’ crucifixion and demean him.  While Jesus was being mocked by onlookers, the two criminals hanging on their crosses to Jesus’ right and left, also, mocked him!  While Jesus was nailed to the cross, continually, Jesus prayed out loud, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”  While Jesus prays, the onlookers and rulers even sneered at him and mockingly said, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen one!”  The Roman soldiers also mocked Jesus saying, ” If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.”  There were soldiers playing the game of chance with Jesus’ robes!  One of the criminals on the cross hurled insults at Jesus, “Aren’t you the Christ?  Save yourself and us!”  All the while insults and mockery were spoken to Jesus as he hung on the cross in excruciating pain, not once did he answer to insult but continued to pray, “Forgive them, for they know not what they do.”  It was at this point, the second criminal spoke up rebuking the other criminal for insulting Jesus.  He said, “Don’t you fear God, since you are under the same sentence?  We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve.  But this man has done nothing wrong.”  Then he said to Jesus, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”  Now up to this point, Jesus responded to no mockery or insult!  Jesus turned and looked at this repentant man and said, ” I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”  It was at that point, Jesus made his “last friend on earth, and first friend in Heaven”! (Quote from Charles Spurgeon).
Positioning Jesus between two criminals might have been to demean Jesus but what it actually did was glorify!  Jesus the Christ, is a friend of sinners!  Surely, when Jesus and his newfound friend entered into his kingdom together, it was an announcement of victory over death and Satan.  Amen.

The Church

Standard

When my husband and I were raising our three children, we had certain expectations for ourselves in raising them, and also, expectations for our children to obey.  With rules comes expectations of either good or bad consequences, depending on choices.  If not, why even have rules?

Three times I have survived a church split.  As I grow older, I have become even less tolerant of the body of Christ being attacked and split.  In among all these years, I’m seeing where the church is looking more like the secular world, and it’s very disconcerting.  If I hear one more time from a church brethren, “Darlene, you shouldn’t be surprised with the way people act in church,” or “the church is made up of broken people; you need to stop being shocked,” or “the church is a body of the walking wounded.”  …<sigh!>…. Does it sound to anyone else like one big copout?!  “Broken people”, “walking wounded”, where is the healing in God’s word?!  If we must lower our expectations of how a Christian ought be or interact with fellow brethren, why even bother with church at all?  Can we not receive the same ill treatment outside of church?

Consider:

Galatians 6:1 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness.  Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.

2Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.

Romans 16:17 I appeal you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them.

By these three verses alone, I understand there is an expectation for the congregation’s obedience to The Lord’s word….rules.  How is there correction and accountability when excuses are readily available for the offender?  From raising three children, I knew that none of my precious angels really hung a halo but I still had my expectations for their obedience and respect for others.  Did it disappoint me and sometimes “shock” me when they acted-out?  YES, yes it did!  Do you think Jesus may also have this same viewpoint when he sees his children acting out in contradiction of his laws or against one another?  I think he does.  To say “you shouldn’t be surprised with the way people act in church” or “the church is made up of broken people, you need to stop being shocked,” is the wrong answer!   It has been my experience that when I have been told this, it is usually by an individual who is dealing out the harm.  I’m not saying this is everyone but quite a few.  We are living in times where there are individuals whose whole purpose in coming to church is to work for the enemy, creating division and breaking the body of Christ!

Many a lost souls have not darkened a church doorway because of “the walking wounded” treating the downcast with distain.  I’m going to say something that I know may not set well but it needs to be said.  There are those who prefer to continue to pick at their own wounds (“the walking wounded”), rather than to look outside of themselves to see there are always someone worse off, needing a kind word of encouragement or a healing touch.  Look to Jesus, The ONE person who had truly a valid reason for being the “walking wounded” but chose a better way!  Amen.

Straight out of High School, a soldier’s journey

Uncle Sam’s orders was stationed in Germany.

Many miles across the ocean blue

Was a young lady praying in a pew.

God heard sincere prayers from this lady’s heart

Appealing of a love that would never depart.

After eight months of daily writing

The couple’s first meet was exceptionally delighting.

When at first their eyes did meet

Was true eternal love so sweet.

Ten more months passes by, they say, “I do”

Joined hearts and hands through life without a clue.

Quickly, how the years have changed youth to old

But always their marriage “to have and to hold.”

Happy Valentine’s Day!

The Indelible Ink Only Jesus Can Obliterate (A Dream)

January 7, 2017

(Tuesday)

I, and a young Muslim woman carrying a baby are in deep conversation.  As we’re talking, I can’t help but admire how striking her appearance.  She has beautiful flowing, black shiny hair, and eyelashes that matches her curtain of hair.  She is wearing her traditional dress.  We are in a friendly conversation and enjoying one another’s friendship.  We are walking in what looks like an amusement park in a war-torn area.  There is a mass of humanity several hundred yards ahead of my friend and me.  To my surprise, my companion is no longer standing beside me but is now with the group of people.  I stop walking to study what lies ahead because now I am hearing shrieking of innocent lives as they are rushing about!  Within seconds, this crowd is now running in my direction, all the while screaming and crying out.  Though this is taking place, I can feel the spirit of God shrouding me.  I haven’t any fear and am able to remain standing in this tumultuous predicament.

As these people pass by me, a man catches my eye.  He is standing on a high place holding a machine gun pointed directly at the crowd but is not shooting them.  He too, has this dark black hair and a beard that is well-groomed with oil.  He is wearing military clothing and an Imam hat.  All of a sudden, this man wearing the Imam hat is standing to my left and the young woman is standing to my right.  He begins to give me instructions like a teacher and hands me a tool in which to complete my assignment.  He is instructing me as he’s handing me this pen, to write the vocabulary words repeatedly on my tablet for which I do not possess.  Upon closer inspection of this pen he gave me for writing, I am surprised to notice that it replicates a Glock but it fits perfectly in my hand for the use in which it is meant.  The ink inside this contraption is hot!  I tell him that I will not be doing what he told me to do, and I hand the writing tool back to the Imam.  As soon as he recovers the pen, he disappears and it is now just this young woman, her baby and myself.  My friend seems distraught and as she is speaking to me, she is pulling up her sleeves and saying that the ink kills.  As I look at her arms, black indelible tattoos appear on her arms and face.  We continue to walk toward a light in a windswept land.  My dream ends here.

Father God, thank you for showing me this dream and giving me understanding.  I pray that through this dream and interpretation, YOUR name will be glorified, and to any reader who may read this, be blessed.  In Jesus’ infinite name, amen.

Dream Interpretations:

Young Muslim Woman – Islam, and Other False Religions/Lost Souls.

Standing Positions – To the Left (wrong in God’s eyes); To the Right (pleasing to God).

Baby – The Lost Searching for Answers.

Mass of Humanity – Those Lost/Christians.

Amusement Park – The Devil’s Playground (the world)/World Events.

Imam – Uses Force For Conversions.

Glock – Quran – Weapon of Death.

Hot Ink – Teachings Straight From Hell Giving Impressions of (False) Hope but Leads to Eternal Death.

Not Possessing a Tablet – Christians Need Only God’s Word, The Holy Bible.

Tattoos – Ideologies of False Religions that leads to Sin/Condemnation.

As I looked upon my friend in this dream, my heart went out to her because in her eyes she was very distressed.  She knew her religion wasn’t right but didn’t know what to do.  All over her body were these dark black tattoos from Islam ideology and she did not know how to rid herself of all that she had ever known.

Praise be to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.  For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.  2 Corinthians 1:3-5 (NIV).  Amen.

The Holy Bible carries THE answer for lost souls!  THE answer is Jesus Christ!
Here are a couple of verses:

If we confess our sins, he (Jesus) is faithful and just and will FORGIVE us our sins and PURIFY us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 19.  (NIV).  Amen.

Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God?  Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.  And that is what some of you WERE.  But you were WASHED, you were SANCTIFIED, you were JUSTIFIED in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.  1 Corinthians 6:9-11.  (NIV).  Amen.

ALL sin are forgiven no matter how wicked the sin!  Amen.

Jesus’ Best Man

Standard

Let me first begin this blog by urging my Christian brothers and sisters to encourage one another through words and deeds, because doing so, will feed inspiration needed to carry out the Lord’s works!  It was through a personal conversation with a dear sister concerning the Holy Spirit and the use of the Jewish wedding as an analogy that motivated me to research more on this topic and thus, this blog.  Thank you, my friend!

Like man is made in the image of God, the earth too is but a small mirrored image of Heaven.  The Jewish people are the chosen people from the Old Testament, and it is through their bloodline that Jesus came into this world.  Upon studying 1Kings 6 and reading Revelation 21 regarding the “New Jerusalem”, I couldn’t help but notice the similarities between the temple in Jerusalem and that of Heaven’s.  If God gave so much attention to inanimate objects on earth to mirror that which is in Heaven, what about the animate (the living)?  With my limited human abilities, I hope to accomplish explaining this deep topic.  My focus is the relationship between Jesus, his bride (the church) and the importance of Holy Spirit in that sacred relationship.  This topic has been spoken and written hundreds of times over, and I’m absolutely sure what I am sharing may be old news to some.  However, by studying the Jewish wedding ceremony, I learned something new regarding Holy Spirit that sheds even more light of understanding to me, and I am not one to keep such a beautiful and important thing to myself…it would be wrong!

In a Jewish wedding there is the “shomer”, the “best man”.  Shomer means watch or guard, guardian.  The shomer is the groom’s (Jesus) closest friend and represents as an overseer making sure the most important rites of the wedding will be followed.  A one particular ritual that must be carried out before the actual wedding nuptials is called the “Mikveh Mayyim”.  Mikveh Mayyim means “living waters” (baptism).  This sacramental bath is to be done BEFORE the wedding vows are to be spoken.  Both the groom and the bride separately, MUST perform this ceremony.  There is fasting and prayer in this phase, preparing the wedding couple for their holy union.  Through John the Baptist, Jesus actually received the Mikveh Mayyim before he began his ministry and claimed his bride.  That is the reason Jesus told John the Baptist, “Let it be so now, it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Matt. 3:15. (NIV).  This is also why Holy Spirit appeared “as like a dove” over Jesus after he was baptized.  Even though at this time there are some Jewish worshipers who do not recognize Jesus as their Messiah, their religious practices unwittingly witness about him!  Amen.

God does not always rely on man’s spoken words to witness for him but may also use symbols or actions. There are THREE objects that must be present in the Jewish wedding ceremonies.  In these wedding ceremonies, it is vital to have present the “Ketubah”, the written document stating that the couple are now legally bound, (a wedding license).  Looking at this through Christian eyes, I see the Ketubah as God’s word.  Where God’s word is present, so is God.  Through God’s approval are his people (the church) written in The Book of Life.  Consequently, this is the LICENSE to enter Heaven.  Next, there is the ring which is but a small token of a sacred union that has an astounding meaning both to the married couple but most especially to God.  This ring (the cross/Jesus) in the Jewish faith, symbolizes that the groom (Jesus) has fulfilled his financial responsibilities in order to have his bride.  When Jesus was nailed to the cross, he paid-in-full for our sins, so that we could become his bride.  So there lies the trinity, Ketuba (God), Ring (Cross/Jesus), Shomer (Holy Spirit).  What about the bride (the church), the one that all guests look forward to seeing in all her splendored beauty?  She has a very important part in the holy matrimony.  On behalf of the groom (Jesus) and herself (church), she is to confirm VERBALLY to the public, that the Shomer (best man) were their choice.  As the bride (the church), our free will was in choosing Jesus and publicly announcing our choice to follow him; whereby, the Shomer (Holy Spirit) takes up residence inside the bride (church), keeping guard over her (church) while also giving council, and comfort until the day the groom (Jesus) returns to once and for all, receive his bride.  Amen.

~ “…while we wait for the blessed hope – the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.” Titus 2:13, 14 (NIV).  Amen.

~ “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” John 14:26 (NIV).  Amen.

A Revelation Dream?

Standard

December 3, 2016 (Sat.)

Like all dreams past, they come just before I am about to awaken.  This dream was chaotic.  In the middle of the night, I along with a small group of people walk up to a fence enclosing a military base (post).  We remain quiet as to not be caught observing the activity within the post (base).  The buildings were in disrepair to my understanding due to the lack of discipline and care for this facility.  American active-duty are being replaced with foreign personnel.

As the dream was about to end, an enormous-sized hourglass appeared floating in front of me.  As I am watching the sand from the top move very quickly to the bottom, a voice tells me that the structure of the hourglass is the United States.  The sand and narrowing of the neck of the hourglass has significance.  The sand is that of American citizens who are active-duty being replaced with foreign personnel.  I wasn’t given specifics of whom these people are just that they were not American.  The narrowing of the neck of the hourglass is time running out and the urgency in which our active-duty are being replaced.  The understanding was that this was one of many reasons why the present administration did not want the Republican Party victory in this past election.  Just before the dream ends, I hear the same voice earlier say, “I have stopped them.”  Amen.
